Akuapem Poloo Has Been Sentenced To 3 months In Prison.


 

Accra Circuit Court has today April 15th sentenced controversial actress and slay queen Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo to 90 days in prison over a birthday shoot photo shared on Social media last year.

The actress was convicted on her own plea last Wednesday and remanded in police custody for her hearing which happened this morning.

She was charged with the publication of nude pictures together with her seven-year-old son. She changed her acquitted plea to guilty before being convicted.

The court presided over by Her Honour Christina court deferred her sentencing to today, April 16, 2021, for her to undergo a bioassay to make sure she wasn’t pregnant before her sentencing is passed.
 
Before her sentencing, the presiding judge confirmed that the actress wasn’t pregnant after her test came out negative.


 
The bioassay ordered by the court may be a requirement by law to make sure that, before a lady who pleaded guilty in court is sentenced, the court should know her status.



The outspoken actress is facing three charges of publication of obscene materials, engaging in violence , conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and interesting in violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is probably going to detract from another person’s dignity and price as a person’s being.

Rosemond who had displayed her naked picture together with her son on social media on June 30, 2020, pleaded acquitted to all or any the fees.

Brief facts

Brief facts of the case presented to the court by the prosecution led by Chief Inspector Agartha Asantewaa were that the complainant is Bright K. Appiah, the Director of kid Rights International Ghana.

According to the prosecution, on June 30, 2020, the accused person celebrated her son’s seventh birthday and she or he took her nude pictures alongside her son who was also half-naked and posted the same on her Instagram page which went viral on social media.


 
She told the court that, the photographs attracted comments, adding that the behavior of the accused person was likely to detract from the dignity of her seven-year-old son among others.

Chief Inspt. Agartha told the court that the complainant petitioned the Director-General Criminal Investigations Directorate and therefore the matter was mentioned the violence and Victims Support Unit.
